Lydian Mode

How do you use the diatonic mode to play lead and solo?
I have proposed a way theres 4, b3, b5, b6, b7 all those things, but not how to use them in solos and things. Also if you're playing a song in the key of D that you will use D Lydian, Phrygian D, Aeolian D or mixolydian A, E dorian, or Aeolian B because they are in the same key
If this song in concert D, maybe D major. Thus, you will use large-scale or Ionian. If the songs in concert D minor, you can play the Ionian scale of F because D is the degree 6 (Aeolian) from the Ionian scale F. Say you're playing seductive ii VI in D. You can use the E Dorian scale during ii (because dorian is a degree 2 Ionian). Then an A Mixolydian scale of V (since mixolydian is the degree of 5 Ionian) scale. And finally D Ionia on top of me (because of Ionia is first degree in. However, you can play the Ionian D over all the tempting because Ionian contains all the notes and scale degrees from the other. Hope that helps!
