What is the cost to have remote entry installed in a vehicle that already has the key to power?
I bought a transmitter and try to program it, but I do not can the car into programming mode so I think it does not have remote entry system on it. It does, however, has a key strength that will not be required to install motor in all keys. About how much does it cost and where would the cheapest place to go into? By the way, the car is a 1998 Ford Taurus. I bought it from private sellers and come only with a single button.
Not all vehicles with power door locks have a long-distance entry. However, you can have an entry kit installed in remote places like Best Buy or Circuit City. I have one installed in my car (1997 Plymouth wind) and the total cost including kit was under $ 200. Just a suggestion, if your car has automatic transmission ... choose to launch remote as well. With the cold weather in it, it was nice to be able to start your car from inside your warm home.
